Institute of cosmonautics
Organizes personnel training sessions in the field ofaerospace technology. The training is done using remote educational techniques (a high-bandwidth satellite communication channel is rented specificallyfor this purpose).
Aerospace school
Organizes computer science training sessions for high-school students. This also includes Internet-based education.

Major Research Areas Covered by Task-Oriented Divisions

Division of fundamental and applied tasks of the Earth surface and near-earth space exploration
Theoretical research and modeling of space monitoring of environment-hostile objects (oil and gas pipelines, water-development works, nuclear power stations, etc.); efficiency evaluation and feasibility of developing of information handling global integrated space systems (Space Internet).
Division of design and technical tasks of space engineering
Development andjustification of construction of small-size spacecraft and satellites based on unified space platform to be used for setting up inexpensive space experiments when laterally injected onto the working orbit; scientific space instrument-making for space environment factors research.
Division of conversion and applied tasks of cosmonautics
Utilization of space radionavigation systems GLONASS and GPS for position and time synchronization of various objects and for addressing similar tasks; utilization of aerospace technology in medicine (artificial crystalline lens, medical equipment) and in oil and gas production (controlled do wn-the-hole drilling).
Division of fundamental and natural-science tasks of cosmonautics
Mathematical modeling of heat and mass exchange processes; methods and means of optical measurements; research of the space factor influence on biological processes.
Division of tasks ofaerospace education
Participation in development of the Internet-based interactive educational courses in the field of aerospace technology; computer science educational services (The World of Internet for Kids and Adults'^attraction of young minds to the space-related technologies (EveningAerosp ace School).
Division of fundamental and applied tasks of initial data interpretation and processing (Penza Division)
Development of sensors and gauges for rocket and space equipment, including small-size satellites; development of integrated information complexes for operating conditions supervision and diagnostics of trunk pipelines breaks and measuring of the mass of pumped substances.
Division of fundamental and applied tasks of high-precision instrument-making (Saratov Division)
Theoretical research and development of spacecraft modeling and control methods, development of sensitive elements, including fiber-optical gyroscopes and friction gyroscopes with non-contact rotor suspension.

1. Division of fundamental research
'Design and development of small-size automated spacecraft' Laboratory
Development of unified platform for scientific space experiments; development of small-size spacecraft for upper Earth atmospheric layers and space contamination.
'Space scientific instrument-making' Laboratory
Development scientific equipment for conducting space experiments in order to research the influence of space environment factors on on-board spacecraft systems.
'Methods and algorithms of space radionavigation' Laboratory
Development of methodological base and software for navigational receivers with a built-in capability to adapt to efficiency criteria and user's operating objectives as well as external conditions.
'Reliability of spacecraft audits systems operation' Laboratory
Conducts research of damage, viability and residual strength of spacecraft and its systems upon collision with high-speedparticles of natural and artificial origin.
2. Center for space transmission reception and processing
Receives, processes and transmits information on space experiments conducted on 'Foton, 'Bion' and 'Resurs' satellites to domestic and foreign customers via up-to-date communication systems and the Internet.
3. Center for administration, technical and scientific support of space experiments
Organizes space-related programs and projects, namely the research of near-earth space contamination by meteoric particles (K.AIKS project), improvement of upper atmosphere density.
